I have honestly questioned this many times myself. My first year, I was crazy inconsistent because the effort didn't give much growth. But then I would see the growth when I wasn't uploading and jump back on.
I would say it is worth it though. Not for the income I have gotten in this year, but for the income I will get in the future. I think YouTube is one of the best platforms for searchability and performance of older content.
One of my best performing videos right now is over a year old and it is still making me money every month.
I also have income streams off of YouTube that needs content marketing to feed. I think content creation, including YouTube, has been marketed as a get-rich-quick scheme, but the reality is that it takes a long time to maake decent money.
But all that content can compound on eachother and that is what I am hoping for in the next couple of years! :)
