My husband and I at our wedding— Provided by Author

When I was a kid, I want a grand wedding. I thought about all of the things I wanted to happen at my wedding. However, the reality is that all of the things comes with a price tag. This price tag made me put off getting married for 2 years!

Then, about a month ago, I asked my fiance if he just wanted to get married a month later. The thought was to have a small wedding ceremony by a judge with a small reception at our house afterwards. After a couple hours of thought, we decided to do it with only 4 weeks notice!

The result was a perfect wedding that was 100% us! I have no regrets. Here is how we spent our money for everything at our wedding.

Wedding Ceremony — $200

For our wedding ceremony, we contacted a retired judge to perform the wedding. The officiating fee was $200. We had our ceremony at a public park (pictured above), which was free. Our immediate family, maid of honor, best man, and some friends attended and we spent time taking pictures afterward.

My husband and I never wanted a church ceremony or to be married by a pastor or priest. Therefore, this was a perfect set up for our wedding.
